what to expect

Begin with pickup from your Cairo hotel, then travel to a pier in Garden City to meet the boat. Leave the coast behind as your captain steers the boat in the Nile current.

Hear Arabic tunes as belly dancers perform before dinner, then fill your plate with an all-you-can-eat buffet. Choose from hot and cold dishes such as rice, pasta, chicken, fish, meat and salads, then choose sweets from a range of desserts and fresh fruit.

Tanoura dancers, or dervishes, perform the second show of the evening, continuously circling the stage to the rhythm of traditional Sufi music, an important part of Egypt's religious tradition. After the show, climb onto the boat's upper deck for an al fresco view of the passing coastline and a unique perspective of the bustling capital. At the end of the cruise, return to shore for the drop-off at your hotel, where this tour concludes.

Unfortunately we spend almost 45 minutes waiting for their delay and we don't have much to do during that time.

The show is really good and interesting. The food is very typical of the country and tastes good. Good for the money (about £30).

There is no label where people go with updates. Everyone eats the same food. Shrimp are not fresh.

Do not use this company

The company driver didn't show up and we lost the entire cruise after paying. They did not give us an alternative cruise or refund. Do not use this company.

I have no idea about vegetarians.

Juan_D,

December 2022

Dancing, dinner, cruising, views, all in 2 hours. Definitely worth it. Don't bother with the more expensive options, there seems to be very little difference. The food may be ok for many people but for vegetarians the main course was rice and potatoes. Considering that 10% of the world's population is now vegetarian, and the trend is rising, and that most of the participants are international visitors, this seems very ignorant on the part of the organizers. There should be at least one option like falafel, pizza, spinach/ravioli/lasagna quiche, so many easy options to include with a little thought. Instead there were 4 meat/fish dishes. But overall great. If they customize their menu it deserves 5 stars.

I had a wonderful night! My tour guide Basma was an excellent host for me, the conversation was amazing and she made me feel so comfortable, she also really cared that I was enjoying the experience. The driver and car were very comfortable, dinner was ok (nothing really impressive if you just go out to eat) but the show and experience was great.

GREAT

This is a great experience. I will recommend it to all my family and friends. I can't wait to go back. BIG BIG BIG

Great way to get on the trip.

Temilola_A,

December 2022

The cruise was a great way to start my trip to Egypt. Easy and fun after a long day of travel. Muhammad was the driver and Zain was the guide and they did the return trip with dinner. He told me some history during the trip and played good music. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to do this. The inflight entertainment was great to watch. There was a live band, a dancer and a belly dancer. All did well.

Less than I expected!

November 2022

The dinner cruise in Cairo is 2 hours but they start the food an hour later and also the queue to get the food will be no less than 30 minutes… the food wasn't bad but it wasn't Egyptian. well not either... average... the only difference from the 5 star cruise is the wi-fi offered, other than that it's exactly the same! There is no nile ride… you can't really enjoy the river… just the dancers and singers doing their show for an hour which makes you tired after a while because we eat there and enjoy the show but I separately. Dinner doesn't include drinks and they don't allow credit cards which makes no sense. Tour guide was very friendly.

disappointed

Francesca_F,

November 2022

Hotel pickup and drop off is fine and our tour guide was very good but unfortunately the issues we had with this tour were with the company itself and its operations. First we arrived 40 minutes before the scheduled cruise time (which was later than expected) and had to queue outside the entrance while the previous session's passengers finished and the tables were cleared etc. When we sat down at our table we found presented our flexible paper drinks menu, which we had to share with other tables. The drinks menu does not resist. You don't get a chance to sit by the window if you're seated at a table with fewer than 4 people. The food was very disappointing, not authentic and harboring flies. The food was lukewarm at best and was served at 9:20pm. (We were hungry). There was a lot of mic feedback, forcing us to cover our ears. At one point they accidentally turned off the lights and everything went pitch black, leading to panic. We would have liked to have left earlier but unfortunately you will have to wait until they are ready. I took some pictures but unfortunately it doesn't allow me to upload them here.

Farzana_B,

October 2022

I like almost everything on this tour. Ferro was a good guide and a good person. I just don't like standing in line for dinner, so I don't like buffet dinners.

Save your $. Go to a good restaurant.

Miguel_L,

September 2022

My opinion is based on experience...NOT A GUIDE. THE GUIDES WERE GREAT…. The cruise is not worth your time. It's dark and not much to see, so a seaside restaurant is better. The show was nothing special. They are out there trying to sell you more pictures than entertaining you. Food was again hot/cold...nothing special. The food was frozen veggies, IKEA style meatballs. (Although it's the best option...nothing you would pay for a tour). Once again. The leaders are not to blame. But save your $. Take a taxi to a nice restaurant...better than an old ship with plain food and no atmosphere.

First night in Cairo!

Luisa_F,

September 2022

First, Mahmoud Hakiem and our driver picked us up to take my mother and I on the Maxim Dinner Boat Cruise. Mahmoud spent the night with us and certainly helped my 80 year old mother feel more secure traveling to central Cairo at night (which is an adventure in itself!). We were picked up from our hotel, dropped off on the boat and had a great time. There's a lively energy among the performers and the food was really good! It's a fun night!

Great experience

Cristina_K,

August 2022

We did the Nile cruise and had a great time. Entertainment was great, dancers amazing, great atmosphere. Staff very friendly and attentive to your needs. Our table was a little wobbly and when we reported this to the staff it was immediately moved. The meal was delicious! The guide we had, Mohammad Ferro, was great, very knowledgeable and even sang for us. He had a great voice and some songs that made him famous. The overall experience was amazing and I would recommend this cruise.
